Our Story

Fries and Co was purchased by Melanie and Ken Francis in December 2011. After a year of tinkering with the original recipes, passed on from the previous owners Mel and Ken decided to opt for a more authentic fish and chip experience. By November 2012 all portion sizes were increased, chips were cut thicker and coatings and batters were all improved to reflect the English style that Ken had grown up with. The sentiment was solidified with the addition of two English favourites Mushy Peas, Chip Shop Curry and Mels grandmothers Sea Food Chowder that have since become so popular they have proven to be a Fries and Co staple.

Ken and Mel take pride in their vast menu of home-style cooking and are consistently working to evolve and expand – with the introduction of home made meat pies and fresh Atlantic seafood chowder which is made from Mel’s grandmother’s secret recipe, and the authentic Newfie dressing. Of course no meal would be complete without desserts and a good wine or beer to wash it all down with. You will be coming back time and time, again!
